Phase 5

Dissemination Recommendations

Now that the project has been deemed successful, there is a desire to replicate it in other environments that have a need for this technology.  Teachers and school administrators will want to transfer the technology from this setting to other classroom labs.  A critical component of success for transference to a similar environment is teacher support and teacher efficacy. ( Kozma, 2003)

Teacher Support

Teachers need to support an innovation if it to be sustained.  It is often the teacher’s effort and commitment to an innovation that makes the difference between success and failure.  By helping teachers see the relative advantage and the perceived value of the innovation, their level of effort and commitment will increase.  This can be accomplished by presenting this project’s results to other teachers in the district.

Teacher Efficacy -

In order for teachers to make this technology work in their own classrooms, they must have exposure to a classroom with the software installed. Now that this software has been successfully implemented, a part of the training curriculum for teachers should be exposure to a computer lab with SynchronEyes installed.  Letting teachers observe a successful implementation of SynchronEyes will make it easier for them to see how the software can work successfully in their own classroom.
