Revision Recommendations
This project was a success as shown by the data summaries and analysis; however, finding ways to continually improve should be the goal of any educator. The following categories explain how some improvements could be made for future implementations of this software.
1. Preparation – Once the technology staff installed the software in the classrooms, they walked away leaving the teacher to tinker with the product for a while. Eventually, training was provided but by then many of the teachers had become familiar with the product just by testing driving. Allowing teachers to see and use the product for the first time in a controlled classroom setting would help to provide a more uniform experience with the software.
2. Training – The teachers knew the main purpose of the software was to prevent students from engaging in distracting Internet activities. This was due to the fact that all of the teachers had complained about students not paying attention in class. There are, however, many more functions of this software besides keeping students from Internet activities. Among other functions, there is a quiz creator and a voting tool. These other functions were given only a brief mention in the training. This left the teacher to discover and learn how to these on his own. The teachers who filled out the questionnaire stated they would like training on all of the software functions.
