Student and School Information

The school that I have chosen for this project is a high school located in the Piedmont of North Carolina. The total number of students at this high school is 794 and the number of teachers is 61. The teacher turnover rate is 32% compared to the state as a whole, which is 19%.

Student Characteristics -

The school is located in a low income neighborhood where approximately 40% of the student body lives below the poverty line. 5% of the students at this school qualify as special needs; however, there are no special needs students in the class, so they will not be part of this study. There is also a high rate of teenage pregnancy. Of the total student population 18.23% have Limited English Proficiency. The student population consists of the following:
